Kerala is all set to launch weather stations in 258 schools across the state. The Kerala school weather stations will be operated by geography teachers and students. The first phase of training for the project has been completed.
A total of 40 teachers participated in the training program. That held at the Advanced Centre for Atmospheric Radar Research (ACARR) in Kochi. These teachers will provide training for others.
The project aims to connect public schools with the community. And provide assistance in weather monitoring, disaster warning, and disaster preparedness. Which is at the local level.
The weather stations will be set up in 240 government schools and 18 aided schools.
