Mark Relaxation in Kerala SET Exams – SC While Dismissing NSS Plea

The Supreme Court dismissed the plea challenging mark relaxation. These marks are relaxations in the reserved categories in the state eligibility test. And these tests conducted by the LBS center of the Kerala Government.

Nair Service Society challenged these marks in 2015 in the eligibility test. These eligibility tests are for higher secondary teachers. This challenge is stating against the right to equality in the Indian Constitution.

The NSS can approach the appropriate state government bodies against the relaxation. If it has any complaints. General category students need a 50 percent mark to qualify for the test. While reserved category students need 45 percent. Said by Court.

This bench headed by Justice Abdul Nazeer.

Court also said that. Kerala is a state where the beedi-making laborers read the newspapers while working. So the newspapers played important role in achieving literacy.
